  • Overview

    As the MWG, Media Director you will be responsible for overseeing an 8-person Media Platforms Team across Programmatic Display, Paid Social and Paid Search.  Your role will focus on developing the strategic approach surrounding a go to market media plan across all channels/platforms.  The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in managing mid/senior level client relationships, developing large-scale media campaigns for Retailers (traditional in-store or online/eCommerce) and have intimate knowledge of programmatic media and sophisticated use of customer/data assets.


    • Act as main client contact for MWG’s largest media account spending $40MM+ annually
    • Manage a team of eight platform experts across two offices (Boston, MA & Winooski, VT)
    • Develop diverse integrated media recommendations driving new customer acquisition, eCommerce sales or in-store sales
    • Prioritize workload across the team to ensure balance
    • Work closely with account teams from leading Media/ AdTech partners (i.e., Google, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) on identifying new strategic approaches, tactical executions and opportunities to expand our client’s presence to drive sales
    • Oversee the optimization of campaigns based on diverse sets of KPIs for our programs. For example, new customer acquisition, first orders, online revenue, in-store visits, in-store sales, omnichannel sales.  Having had CPG or Retail experience is a positive
    • Manage planning and execution of online search marketing programs, including campaign setup, monitoring, reporting, analysis, optimization, budget pacing, and forecasting
    • Provide research, competitive benchmarking, and strategic insights to multiple client stakeholders
    • Partner with other MWG departments to build internal infrastructure around automation (optimization, billing, reporting) of our paid media performance
    • Provide regular performance updates, strategic POVs to client stakeholders along with identifying new trends and emerging opportunities
    • Identify new and emerging online advertising technology and capabilities to improve program performance and gain first mover advantages

    • Analytical, motivated, and detail-oriented—and you thrive working in a fast-paced environment (i.e., local grocery/ retail)
    • Ability to develop sound strategic media recommendations balanced with intimate detailed knowledge of programmatic/platform based media activation
    • Strong collaboration and management skills. Proactive communication up, down and sideways
    • 7+ years of digital media experience (brand or agency experience)
    • You understand and embrace marketing technology and are comfortable using various digital media platforms for audience development, media planning, forecasting and/or in-market execution and optimization
    • Skilled in identifying and executing against different campaign optimization strategies and techniques
    • Possess strong presentation building skills, written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience with direct client communication. Important to have strong influential and persuasion skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree and/or studies in advertising/marketing, communications, mathematics, computer programming, economics, engineering, or related discipline

    The role does entail monthly/quarterly travel to MWG’s Headquarters in Winooski, VT as well as client travel as needed (approximately 25% of time).
