The Dir, Sales role is responsible for acquiring the best new retailer publisher inventory in the U.S. This person will be responsible for selling to top 50 grocery and national retailers (mass, drug, big box, convenient, etc). This person will provide a strategic plan for acquiring new retailer publisher partners, help drive media product recommendations and structure deal terms. This individual will manage a book of business and relationships with key retail decision makers, pitching the benefits of MWG, with an emphasis on our differentiated suite of digital shopper marketing solutions that connect retailers, brands and shoppers to drive sales.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire new retailer relationships for MWG’s Media & Advertising business; increase MWGs reach and scale.
  • Effectively position and differentiate the value of MWG’s ecosystem of media solutions to new retailers (with the flexibility to customize solutions – by retailer).
  • Partner with Media Product Dev and Mgmt to ensure MWG media innovations are aligned with pulse-of-marketplace.
  • Negotiate terms and contract; effectively liaise with Legal, various product and integration teams, as well as internal management.
  • Collaborate with MWG Ad Sales Team to ensure optimized success of new retailer relationships.
  • Run thoughtful, data-driven Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date Salesforce pipeline.

Qualifications

  • Solid retail relationships (grocery-specific a plus).
  • 7+ years in digital sales (digital media, digital retail media, digital shopper marketing related sales).
  • Passion for hunter sales role.
  • Keen understanding of the online advertising ecosystem including: display, sponsored listings, advertising exchanges, video, native advertising, RTB auctions, data-driven advertising, brand showcases (band content integration opportunities) and sales attribution models.
  • Well versed knowledge of data, targeting, re-targeting, audience segmentation, and experience pushing through technical implementations with large web publishers.
  • Strong understanding of various pricing models and benefits, including CPM, CPC and CPA pricing models.
  • Well versed in advertising technologies and trends.
  • Effective communication skills a must.

  • Proven track record of consultative selling.
  • Team player with an entrepreneurial attitude and strong will to succeed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter; flexible persistence.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing or similar area of study.
