MyWebGrocer is recruiting for a Software Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering team. The role will work to analyze and resolve issues for both internal and client stakeholders. This role works as part of a larger support team and spans our entire application suite. Additionally this role will direct and oversee quality assurance engineers in delivering high quality solutions and fixes to the production environment.

 

The MyWebGrocer Sustaining Engineering Team is a dynamic, fast paced team focused on rapid remediation of defects and configuration development requests. The team is based out of our Winooski Vermont headquarters. The members of the SE Team work together in a collaborative manner with each other as well as many other operational and engineering teams, including remote teams to support the MWG suite of products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and debug defects, identify and code solutions.  
  • Perform research and analysis for reported defects and feature requests.
  • Implement process improvements and invent processes where needed.
  • Understand and use integration and unit tests in order to deliver quality code.
  • Guide and direct quality assurance engineers to ensure delivery of sound solutions.
  • Conduct and participate in regular code reviews.
  • Conduct hotfix and patch releases.
  • Document code, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide daily status updates to team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years software systems work with extensive experience on large scale internet based systems.
  • Excellent debugging skills and willingness to perform in depth analysis and answer technical questions.
  • Ability to context switch and multitask.
  • Ability to collaborate and be part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on various stakeholder driven criteria.
  • A self starter with ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, C#, JavaScript, Ajax, XML.
  • Web Application and Web Services development experience.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract low level information to general understanding and form an appropriate solution.
  • Evidence of leadership competencies including self confidence, results orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
