MyWebGrocer is seeking a Software Development Manager to join our DevOps Performance team. The ideal candidate will have experience building and leading extremely motivated teams and possess strong critical thinking abilities. The MWG DevOps Performance Team is a creative and fast paced cross-disciplinary team focused on optimizing and tuning the MWG suite of products for maximum performance and uptime. The team analyzes and load tests MWG applications to identify and remediate bottlenecks in the code and infrastructure. This team is passionate about collaboration and continually pushing the envelope for quality and highly available systems.



Managing the day-to-day planning, problem solving and other routine activities including, but not limited to:

  • Resource scheduling (including daily schedules and PTO)
  • Setting performance metrics
  • Evaluating team members against established performance metrics
  • Information dissemination
  • Training and professional development
  • Routine issue resolution
  • Serve as an internal escalation point for issue resolution and remediation.
  • Make presentations to clients as needed.
  • Manage client projects related to performance improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all key stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with project manager to estimate and prepare project plans, budgets, timelines.
  • Work as a cross functional team member with other areas of the business such as product management, managed services, professional services, documentation, training and sales departments providing in depth product knowledge.
  • Track project status and communicate progress effectively to internal management and stakeholders.
  • Manage releasing both additional performance enhancing functionality and new functionality to  the full MyWebGrocer Application Suite.
    Recommend, build, and deploy processes and procedures to enhance/support the software development life-cycle.
  • Complete other work requirements or tasks that are requested by management when necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the department or company.


Employee evaluation, feedback and coaching including but not limited to:

  • Day-to-day performance coaching for improvement
  • Annual and mid-year formal reviews
  • PTO tracking
  • Manage employees including evaluating employee performance and writing and delivering performance reviews.
  • Motivate and mentor staff.
  • Recommendations for promotions and/or disciplinary actions


B.S. degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent combined education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years software systems work with extensive experience on large scale internet based systems and at least 2 years of team leadership.
A self starter with ability to work in a fast paced environment bringing new ideas and technologies into the business.
Expertise in software development.
Demonstrable people skills.
A thorough understanding of high availability, load balancing, performance tuning, security, and Web-Analytics.
Excellent writing and communication skills.

Attention to detail is critical.

Must be well organized, possess strong problem solving skills and be solution oriented.
