  • Develop, administer and oversee the maintenance of SQL Server and mySQL databases.
  • Assist senior DBAs in the monitoring and maintaining all production and non-production databases.
  • Optimize stored procedures, UDFs, indexing, table design, job design and job scheduling to optimize database performance.
  • Install new DBMS software, application software, and other software related to DBMS administration. Execute acceptance test, help review the results before migrating to the production environment.
  • Assist in analyzing performance issues, while sharing analysis approaches and methods with other DBAs.
  • Develop, support and promote standards and policies for the secure and efficient use of sensitive information.
  • Prepare and execute project plans and timelines. Communicate progress, obstacles and plans effectively to stakeholders.
  • Import and export data using SSIS packages.
  • Develop reports as well as perform ad hoc data reporting.
  • Develop and test T-SQL Scripts
  • Test patches before deploying on production servers.
  • Periodically test backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage SQL Server security and logins.
  • Work as a team member with product management, development, support, documentation, training and sales departments. Provide design input and approval where appropriate, during project estimation, design, development, QA and deployment phases.
  • Work with domestic and offshore development and operations staff to understand their database needs. Develop solutions where needed and assist developers when appropriate.
  • Lead database code reviews, ensuring accuracy, adherence to standards and dissemination of knowledge.
  • Promote, practice and require 100% usage of Source Code Control.
  • Complete other work requirements or tasks that are requested by management when necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the department or company.


  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years Database Administrator work with experience on large scale internet based systems.
  • Extensive experience with database monitoring, administration, maintenance and reporting.
  • Hands-on SQL Server 2008/2012/2016 administration, database tuning and troubleshooting experience; knowledge of standard SQL Server tools.
  • Strong knowledge and experience creating schemas, stored procedures, and user defined functions.
  • Strong SQL, T-SQL, and SSIS package skills. .
  • A self starter with ability to work in a fast paced environment bringing new ideas and technologies into the business.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to perform a number of database tasks at one time unsupervised.
  • Ability to be on call 24/7/365 to sustain availability and SLA.  (~ 30% pager rotation)
  • Certifications (MCDBA, MCITP) encouraged.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
